Sri Hari Temple, Sri Badrika Ashram

A black-stone image beheld as the Goddess in devotion and Vishnu in majesty.

At Sri Badrika Ashram, in the village of Shalamun in the Sirmaur region of Himachal Pradesh, beside the Giri Ganga river, stands the temple of Sri Hari — the heart of the ashram founded in 2011 by the monk Om Swami. The Lord is worshipped here in a striking life-size black-stone image that, devotees say, reveals itself as the Goddess in the mood of devotion and as Vishnu in the mood of majesty, uniting the divine feminine and masculine in a single form.

Set amid the quiet of the Himalayan foothills, the temple is a place of meditation, worship, and selfless service. Sri Hari of Sri Badrika Ashram is a serene modern shrine drawing spiritual seekers to the mountains.
