Devi Talab Mandir, Jalandhar

Held in tradition as a Shakti Peetha, beside the sacred tank that names it.

In the city of Jalandhar in Punjab stands the ancient Devi Talab Mandir, a revered shrine of the Goddess set beside a sacred tank (talab) from which it takes its name. The temple is honoured in tradition as a Shakti Peetha, a seat of the Divine Mother, and is centuries old, drawing pilgrims to worship the Goddess in her powerful and protective form.

Within its precincts stands a replica of the Amarnath cave shrine, adding to its sanctity. A great centre of Devi devotion in the Punjab, the Devi Talab Mandir draws immense crowds, especially during the Navaratri festivals, and is among the most cherished temples of Jalandhar.
