Baba Balak Nath Temple, Deotsidh

A cave shrine in the hills, the eternal child-yogi of the Siddha path.

At Deotsidh in the Hamirpur region of Himachal Pradesh, set within a natural cave in the hills, stands the shrine of Baba Balak Nath, a revered deity of the Nath and Siddha tradition, honoured as an eternal child-yogi of boundless spiritual power. Tradition holds that the Baba dwelt here in ages past, blessing his devotees, and the cave (the Deot Sidh) is the heart of his worship.

Devotees offer rot, a sweet bread, and throng the shrine in great numbers, especially on Sundays, which are sacred to him. Set amid the Himalayan foothills, Baba Balak Nath of Deotsidh is among the most beloved folk-shrines of Himachal Pradesh.
