At Labhpur in the Birbhum district lies the Attahas Shakti Peetha, whose name means loud laughter. In the tradition of the Peethas, the lower lip (adhar) of Sati fell here, and the Goddess is worshipped as Phullara — the blossoming one — with Vishwesh, also called Chandrasekhar, as her Bhairava.
Because it is the lips that are honoured here, the Peetha is associated with speech, joy, and expression, and the great laughter (attahasa) of the Devi is said to echo through it. A sacred tank, the Devidaha, lies nearby, tied in local lore to the Ramayana. Attahas draws pilgrims seeking the Mother's gift of gladness and voice, and stands among the most evocative of the Birbhum Shakti seats.
