In the heart of Patna in Bihar, near the railway station, stands the Mahavir Mandir, one of the most visited temples in North India, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, worshipped here as Mahavir, the mighty one. The temple enshrines two images of Hanuman, honoured as fulfilling the wishes of devotees, and draws immense crowds daily, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays and at Ram Navami.
Among the most richly endowed temples of the region, the Mahavir Mandir Trust is renowned for its vast charitable works, running hospitals and relief for the poor. Mahavir of Patna is a beloved guardian deity and a great centre of both devotion and service in Bihar.
