At Salangpur in the Botad region of Gujarat stands the celebrated Kashtabhanjan Hanuman temple — the Hanuman who is the breaker of sorrows and troubles (kashta). Belonging to the Swaminarayan tradition, the shrine was established through the devotion of Gopalanand Swami, and its powerful image of Hanuman, shown subduing the malefic Shani beneath his foot, is revered as wonderfully potent in relieving affliction and removing suffering.
One of the most visited temples of Gujarat, Salangpur draws great crowds, especially on Saturdays and at Hanuman Jayanti, and is renowned for its scale and its tradition of service. Kashtabhanjan Hanuman is a mighty and beloved guardian of the Gujarati land.
