In the Raman Reti area of Vrindavan, amid the sacred groves where Krishna and his brother Balarama once played, stands the Krishna Balaram Mandir, established in 1975 by Srila Prabhupada, founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The temple enshrines Krishna and Balaram together, along with Radha-Krishna and Gaura-Nitai, worshipped with the joyful chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
A serene and beautifully kept shrine, it draws devotees and visitors from across the world who come to the land of Krishna's childhood, and the samadhi of Srila Prabhupada stands within the complex. As a spiritual heart of the global Krishna consciousness movement in the Lord's own Vrindavan, the Krishna Balaram Mandir unites ancient Braj devotion with a worldwide community of bhakti.
