Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple

Giver of food to all who come, served free by day and by night.

In the forested hills of the Chikmagalur region of Karnataka, on the bank of the Bhadra river, stands the temple of Sri Annapoorneshwari at Horanadu — the Goddess as the giver of food and nourishment, who ensures that none who come to her shall go hungry. The Mother is worshipped in a resplendent golden image, standing with the vessel and ladle of abundance.

True to her nature, the temple is renowned for feeding every pilgrim who arrives, serving free meals around the clock in a tradition of boundless hospitality. Set amid the green beauty of the Western Ghats, Horanadu draws devotees who come to seek the blessing of the Mother who nourishes all creation, and is among the most beloved Devi shrines of Karnataka.
